He was playing for Christleton in the West Cheshire League in England when his teams goal keeper was injured conceeding a penalty, Steve pulled on the keepers shirt and gloves saved the penalty and never looked back as he decided to stay in goal. After brief spells with Colwyn Bay and Flint Town United in the Welsh league Steve was signed by Warrington Town after impressing against them in the Cheshire Senior Cup, he saved two penalties unfortunately in a losing cause. He played 7 years for Warrington Town as a contract player making over 300 appearances , reaching the FA Trophy quarter final and playing in the Presidents Cup final at Main Road former home of Manchester City. He won player of the year, captained the team and played a dozen games for Barclays Premier League club Wigan Athletic in the Central League . In 1994 Steve emigrated to Edmonton , Canada and has played in Canadian National Finals in Nova Scotia playing for Edmonton Scottish in 1996 and played in Western Canadian Masters Finals in 2009 as a runner up and 2010 as a winner. Having played and coached for almost 30 years Steve’s real passion is passing on his knowledge to the young keepers . Ensuring the fundamental building blocks are in place for the students is of utmost importance , allowing them to grow in a positive and fun environment .   TESTIMONIALS My daughter began elite soccer just over a year ago in the fall of 2013. Facing the stronger talent was certainly a benefit to her growth, however, it wasn’t until we registered with Steve at Just4Keepers in the spring of 2014 that she truly began to refine her game. Steve is extremely observant at analyzing a keeper’s strengths and weaknesses from which he works on developing the technical side of the game down to the finest detail. My daughter was always made to feel like her individual development was important with one-on-one time even within a group setting. Steve has been an important piece of the puzzle that has allowed my daughter to earn a very generous NCAA scholarship for the 2015-2016school year. Best wishes Aurel Ulliac   I began training with Steve at the start of this outdoor season. I had only started playing elite soccer last indoor season. Just recently I’ve earned a scholarship to play at Adelphi University in New York where I hope to continue working towards my goal of playing post-university. There is no way I would have been able to get this far without Steve’s help. His huge amounts of experience and knowledge about soccer combined with his passion for training young goalkeepers have helped me develop so much. Steve has been an incredible goalkeeper coach and I will definitely continue training with him during the summers when I’m back in Edmonton. Thanks! Annie U
